Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. The university is renowned for her pioneering the science of eyewitness memory in children and using child victims to be legal witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific author and has been awarded numerous prizes and grants. She consults with numerous governments and agencies across the globe regarding policy as well as the study of child abuse in the justice system. She currently acts as a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member of the International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division as well as three divisions of Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
